Yesterday I spent 3 hours at the bead show here in Tucson. There are people here from all over the United States, and the world, in for this event.

So many things to see, ideas to get and beads to buy. One of my favorites was African Gems. The owner, Edison Lau showed me beads from all over. He has a wonderful selection of sterling silver findings, beads and all sorts of stones, and can be reached at africangems@live.com.

I also visited The Purse Museum. They have a great exhibit of antique beaded purses, and the items are for sale.

Another favorite was Original Sin Jewelry. Margaret Aden’s designs are unique and she gives classes on her techniques. She is in Vail, AZ.

Crystal Brilliance designer jewelry, by Anna Elizabeth Draeger is great to see too. She has books available on her work and techniques.

Bead Haven, out of Michigan, has beading kits, and great ideas. Diane Sepanski uses glass, metal clay and all kinds of components in her work.

Beads and new ideas are whirling in my head today and I have my purchases all spread out on my table. I am ready to get to work.

This DPS Air Rescue helicopter is searching Finger Rock Trail for a stranded hiker. It often will land near the trailhead to pickup or deliver the injured, or possibly another team member.

The men in the orange shirts are from Southern Arizona Rescue.  The search lasted a couple of hours and was finished well before sundown.
